Summary: | Manahan Stadium is one of the sports facilities in Surakarta City with the main function of football. However, in its development, Manahan Stadium can be used as a venue for sports and non-sports events. Ripparda and RPJMD of Surakarta City said that Manahan Stadium is a Regional Tourism Development Area with a focus on sports tourism, but the development of sports tourism at Manahan Stadium is not considered optimal. This study aims to examine the resource components that make up the Manahan Stadium sports tourism destination as an event venue from the supply side, identify internal and external factors related to the development of sport tourism, and formulate a strategy for developing the Manahan Stadium sports tourism destination. Descriptive analysis was carried out for the assessment of the resource components that make up the sport tourism destination, IFAS and EFAS analysis was used to determine the internal and external factors of Manahan Stadium, and SWOT analysis was used to formulate a strategy for developing Manahan Stadium sport tourism destinations. Primary data sources are based on interviews and observations, while secondary data sources are based on previous research, books, articles, policies/regulations, and news.
From the results of the analysis, an assessment of the resource components that make up sports tourism destinations from the dosage side is obtained which includes physical characteristics and qualities as venues for sports and non-sports events as well as accessibility and infrastructure arrangements. The characteristic component and physical quality obtained an average value of 4.09 which indicates that the characteristics and physical qualities of Manahan Stadium as a venue for sports and non-sports events are good and quite complete. While the accessibility component and infrastructure arrangement obtained a value of 5, this is due to the accessibility condition of Manahan Stadium with a strategic location and easy to access both using private vehicles and public transportation. Meanwhile, the infrastructure arrangements that support the sports tourism activities of Manahan Stadium are also quite good with the existence of various general facilities in the stadium area, the availability of accommodation, and the availability of food stalls or restaurants.
Based on component assessments, interviews, and observations, the determination of internal (strengths & weaknesses) and external (potential & threat) strategic factors owned by Manahan Stadium is carried out. Internal factors that are the strength of the development of sport tourism Manahan Stadium are the quality of the stadium that has met FIFA standards, a strategic location with a sustainable
approach (economic, social, and environmental), can be used for sports and non- sports events, and has public facilities and other sports facilities with well- maintained conditions. Meanwhile, the factors that become weaknesses are the lack of branding and promotion of Manahan Stadium, the lack of land and parking booths, as well as the absence of supporting equipment and equipment for events other than football. Meanwhile, external factors that become the potential for the development of sport tourism destinations include the determination of the Manahan Stadium sports tourism area in Ripparda and RPJMD, ease of accessibility, availability of public transportation, and availability of accommodation and restaurants around the stadium. Meanwhile, the factor that poses a threat is the lack of frequency in organizing events and competitions with other stadiums as event venues.
The first step in a SWOT analysis is the calculation of factors and internal weights. Based on the results of the formulation, the development of sport tourism at Manahan Stadium is in Quadrant I, or rather a stable growth strategy which is a strategy with efforts to maximize strength and seize opportunities. In general, the strategy that can be carried out is in the form of preparing a master plan for sports tourism at Manahan Solo Stadium. Then branding and promoting Manahan Stadium as a sports and non-sports venue. Then integrate Manahan Stadium with other tourist attractions in Solo. After that, compiled the SOP for organizing the event at Manahan Stadium and collaborated with the management of Persis Solo as a club based at Manahan Stadium.
