GEOLOGY AND 3-D STATIC RESERVOIR MODELING AT SEQUENCE INTERVAL SB5-MFS7, SSDK FIELD, TABUL FORMATION, TARAKAN BASIN
SSDK Field is a gas field located in Tarakan Basin, North Kalimantan. It was first explored with a wildcat well in 1977 and has now entered development stage. This field has an area of approximately 85.47 km2 and is located onshore. This study was conducted at SB5 - MFS7 sequence interval in Tabul F...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/70447 SSDK Field is a gas field located in Tarakan Basin, North Kalimantan. It was first explored with a wildcat well in 1977 and has now entered development stage. This field has an area of approximately 85.47 km2 and is located onshore. This study was conducted at SB5 - MFS7 sequence interval in Tabul Formation, SSDK Field. This study is intended to find out the regional and SSDK Field geology, characterize its reservoir, create a static reservoir model that includes facies and petrophysics modeling, and estimate hydrocarbon in place reserve within SB5-MFS7 sequence interval, Tabul Formation, SSDK Field, Tarakan Basin. Data used in this study are seismic data (2-D), wireline logs, cutting descriptions, sidewall core descriptions, Meliat Formation’s core analogues, biostratigraphy reports, checkshots, well test data, and final well reports. Methods used in this study are facies and depositional environment analysis, sequence stratigraphic analysis, petrophysical analysis, depth structure and reservoir geometry mapping, static reservoir modeling, and estimation of hydrocarbon in place reserves. Results of the analyses show that SB5-MFS7 sequence interval was generally deposited in a transgressive dominant phase, having 8 lithofacies and 3 facies associations consisting of tidal flat, channel fill, and marine influenced channel fill. SB5-MFS7 sequence interval is interpreted to have been deposited in a tide-influenced delta environment. There are two potential reservoirs consisting of channel fill and marine influenced channel fill facies associations. In general, the reservoir quality of channel fill is better than marine influenced channel fill in relation to the percentage of shale in each facies association. The result of seismic data analysis shows that there is an anticline structure with a northwest-southeast orientation and 2 normal faults with a northeast-southwest orientation. Furthermore, static reservoir modeling is conducted to create facies model, petrophysics model, and hydrocarbon in place reserve estimation. The reserve estimation results show that the volume of gas in place from Reservoir-1 is 0.47 BSCF and Reservoir-2 is 2.87 BSCF text |
