As soccer is a high-intensity intermittent sport, it leads to fatigue, which can increase the risk of injury. Injuries in young athletes are still not widely studied even though there are some special cases such as osgood schlatter, the existence of research data is very important in an effort to reduce the risk of injury. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of injuries in young soccer athletes in Indonesia including looking for the relationship of injuries with BMI and exposure time to training as well as matches. Methods: This study used a retrospective cohort study design with a survey method on EPA (Elite Pro Academy) U14, U16, and U18 youth soccer athletes from 18 teams in each age group. With data analyzed as much as n = 838. Results: There was no association between BMI and injury (p > 0.05) while exposure time had an association with injury (p < 0.05). Sports injuries based on location of injury were most common in the ankle 273(39%). The highest injury type was contusion 36%, strain 25%, and sprain 18%. Mild injury (4-7 days) as the highest severity of injury 299(43%). The defender position had the most injuries 188(35%). Osgood schlatter was most prevalent in athletes aged 13 years with 39 cases, with an injury incidence of 3.9/1000 hours. Conclusion: In this study, it was found that training exposure time was also associated with the number of injuries. While the most injuries occur in the lower limbs, especially ankle ligament injuries as the highest case. The position of defender is the most vulnerable position to injury. The peak incidence of osgood Schlatter occurred at the age of 13 years. text
