Summary: | Floods are one of the natural disasters that often occur in urban and rural
Indonesia and cause many losses to the community. The extreme global warming
that triggers climate change and causes flooding may occur at any time and cannot
be avoided. As the technology of the digital era becomes increasingly advanced, it
is required to participate in reducing the level of losses as much as possible through
the distribution of critical information. Distribution of factual and actual
information is a target that must be achieved in technological evolution, which can
be developed as a signal for early flood detection. With the existence of early
detection tools, the government can put greater efforts into the mitigation of flood
disasters and minimize losses from the impact of floods.
This final project aims to implement a data transmission system using LoRa as a
gateway to interact from a considerable distance without an internet network. The
Telecommunication Natural Disaster Anticipation (TELENADIA) system has been
assembled with 4 main sensors, namely wind speed, rainfall, temperature, and
water level, which are integrated into one system. Furthermore, data that has been
retrieved from hard-to-reach points of the internet network is sent via LoRa to the
server and continues to the cloud, which processes the data until the information
can be read by the end-user. The results from the TELENADIA system show that
data is successfully transmitted through the four sensors at the farthest distance of
800 m with high intervention conditions in lowland locations and is successfully
equipped with a self-recharging feature. Thus, TELENADIA can be used as a tool
for early flood detection in areas without the internet. |
