Generally the field is asymmetries anticline with the axis of North West – South East and bordered by thrust faults in North East that parallels to the axis of the anticline in the field. The main reservoar is Early Miocene sandstone of Bekasap Formation. Due to declining of daily oil production since field discovered in 1951, some efforts have been conducted in the field of Kotabatak - Central Sumatera Basin. In order to maintain the production performance, peripheral water injection has been implemented since 1975 continued by pattern water flood in 2002 and some new infill wells drilled yearly. In the case of water flooding implementations in Bekasap Formation and as a result of 3D seismic interpretations in which some major and minor faultss are penetrated into this formation, particularly at reservoar A, the faults characteristic analyses are absolutely needed. Also, by understanding this faultss characteristic or faultss behavior practically we will understand the reservoar compartmentalization in the area. By having those results believe that the optimum plans and executions can be properly implemented in the future and all will support to maintain or to increase oil production. The examples of future plan and execution are pattern alignment, additional infill wells both productions and injectors, and others potential tertiary recovery. By approaching the value of shale gouge ratio (SGR) at reservoar juxtaposition on the faults plain, with some calibrations of fluid pressure defference and classical formation pressure’s (RFT’s) plot also actual field data validations, showing that with the SGR ? 20% the faultss at study area have a sealing behavior text |
