Food sources that have nutritional value include vegetables and fruit. In addition, vegetables have benefits on digestive health in humans. The importance of the benefits that vegetables have is not fully understood by most children. Lack of knowledge of children about the content of food ingredients can also have an impact on behavior in choosing the wrong food. The need to add children's insight about the benefits of vegetables can be done through the use of media that are familiar to children. Therefore, it is necessary to design media that is informative and interesting about the benefits of vegetables for children. This study focuses on designing educational media about the benefits of vegetables on digestive health in the form of 2D animation for children aged 6 – 7 years old. There are two methods in designing this media, namely the research method and the design method. The research method is used to collect and process data through literature studies, questionnaires, interviews with expertise, and observation, while the design method is the steps in designing animation which includes preproduction, production and post-production stages. The results of data analysis found that the target audience's interest in animation was based on an exciting story narrative and a unique and attractive visual appearance. The story narration in this animation uses a suggestive narrative approach which is conveyed through interactions between characters from a third-person perspective. The visual appearance of this animation uses an anthropomorphic approach with a simplified cartoon style. The trial results showed that children were able to mention the benefits of eating vegetables is making the stomach healthy which is related to easy bowel movements (40%), and the impact of not eating vegetables is making the stomach unhealthy/sore and difficult to defecate (55%) after watched the designed animation. text
