Abstract: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Physical health is something everyone is hoped for. Good health causes human beings to do their activities properly and live comfortably. Health condition must be maintained and the facilities related to health must be set up for the welfare of the people such as the building of hospitals. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The social-economic condition in the society has developed together with the development of the health facilities. This leads to a situation where hospitals provides several types of wards for patients with different needs for services according to their economic condition. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The planning for interior design has become an important aspect for hospitals, because the interior design will be perceived by the patients during their treatment. Comfort and measuring up to their expectation tend to speed up recovery. Medical treatment using medication and sophisticated medical equipment are no longer the only way for a speedy recovery. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The patients and their families as customers of hospitals tend to choose the wards which do not function merely as wards for treatment, medical services, and health facilities, but more than that, there should be media to show comfort, and even their life style. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The effect of this issue has become the input in the process of the interior planning of big-hospitals such as those in Jakarta. This condition causes the hospital to have an additional function besides health treatment, which is the function to give services for status and life style.
