Description
Summary:Karanganyar-Boyolali Groundwater Basin is the biggest groundwater basin in Central Java which is has great groundwater potential. However, several areas covered in the Karanganyar-Boyolali groundwater basin are prone to drought disasters. Population growth, economic development, climate change, and others cause led to an increase of consumption water. Due to this, the amount of air surface may decrease, and the need for groundwater may rise. This study aims to determine the groundwater potential zone of Karanganyar-Boyolali groundwater basin as an effort to maintain groundwater sustainability in research area. This study used fuzzy membership which was integrated with weights from Multi-Influencing Factor to lithology, land cover, slope, lineament density, drainage density, rainfall, and soil type. Parameter classified through literature study and subtractive clustering. The groundwater potential zone map is divided into 3 zones, there are poor groundwater potential zone 1289 km2 (33,69%), moderate groundwater potential zone 1764 km2 (46,10%), and good groundwater potential zone 777 km2 (20,21%). Validation with field data shows that wells with discharge < 35 liters/second are in the poor groundwater potential zone and wells with discharge > 35 liters/second are in the moderate groundwater potential zone.
