Description
Summary:Deli River is the largest river in Medan City whose water quality must be maintained. In order to maintain water quality in its natural state, it is necessary to control water wisely so that it can be utilized by the local community and the feasibility of becoming a water source for PDAM Tirtanadi. This research was conducted with the intention to analyze the water quality in the Deli Serdang River. Analysis of water characteristics aims to show the level of water pollution related to the health of the local community and its feasibility as a source of water for PDAM Tirtanadi. This study uses secondary data from the North Sumatra Environmental Service at 6 monitoring points in 2021. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, it is concluded that the quality of the Deli river is in the range that meets the water quality standard except for the phosphate parameter with a value of 0.29-2.06 mg/L which exceeds the water quality standard of 0.2 mg. /L. Based on the research results obtained, it is expected that the community around the Deli River should maintain the quality of river water by not throwing liquid or solid waste into the river so that the river can be clean and can be used on a sustainable scale.
