Water treatment needs to be carried out so that the water to be consumed is
safe for health is one of the responsibilities of drinking water operators, namely the
Regional Public Company (Perumda) / Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM). The
increase in population growth affects the amount of water needed that must be treated by
water treatment plants. The uprating method is carried out to increase production
capacity because it has the advantage of saving costs and does not require new land.
Perumda Tirta Pakuan Bogor City and Perumda Tirta Mangutama Badung Regency have
been uprated with a plan to increase capacity by 1000 l/second. Tirta Pakuan, which is
sourced from raw water from the Cisadane River, uprating from a discharge of 500
l/second to 1000 l/second with a change in the sluice of the flocculation unit from 50×22
to 60×80 cm and additional channels from the coagulation unit in the form of 2 concrete
pipes with a diameter of 1200 mm; the distance between plate settlers of sedimentation
units from 9 cm to 3 cm, supernatant channels from 20×30 to 20×60 cm, outfall systems
from 20×30 to 20×60 cm; and the addition of filtration basin from 6 to 8. Tirta
Mangutama, which is sourced from raw water from the Tukad Badung Reservoir,
uprating from a discharge of 300 l/second to 600 l/second with changes in the
sedimentation unit from a conventional system to a plate settler system: addition of new
basin of filtration from 3 to 5. These two WTP when uprated there is no cessation of
operation and the quality of treated water until now meets the quality standards of Permenkes 492/2010.
