Description
Summary:Badminton is a quite popular sport in Indonesia. However, comprehensive research on badminton is not as much as other sports. One of the interesting things to study in badminton is a selection of hitting strategies. The basic shots in badminton consist of service shots and non-service shots. Service shot is the opening shot in each point. Choosing the right service and non-service strategy could increase the chances of winning in badminton matches. In this final project, a shots recommendation model and a model for determining service strategy and service response are formed. The shots recommendation model is constructed using a normal form game, while the serving strategy determination model is constructed using a normal form game and an extensive form game on game theory. The models that have been made are solved by searching for the best response, saddle point, and subgame perfect equilibrium using linear programming approach and backward induction. Simulations are carried out using data from four matches between Tai Tzu Ying and Ratchanok Intanon. The results obtained are in the form of recommendations for each player's shots in response to each type of opponent's shots, as well as service strategy and service responses recommendations that must be taken by each player.
