CASE STUDY: TRAFFIC PARK AND MALUKU PARK Qurani, Zahra Indonesia Theses evaluation, ecological function, social function, city park INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/70936 Green Open Space (RTH) is important as a counterweight to environmental conditions and spaces in social interaction activities, especially in urban areas that have traffic density, higher pollution levels and an increasing population. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the ecological and social functions of urban parks to determine the guidelines for landscape design with ecological and social functions. The research was conducted in two RTH Bandung City, namely Traffic Park and Maluku Park. The research method carried out is evaluative using the stop-motion walking method; Key Performance Index (KPI); Thermal Humidity Index (THI); Public Space Index (PSI); descriptive, as well as recommending the arrangement of Traffic Parks and Maluku Parks and for similar parks in urban areas. The results showed that the ecological function of the Traffic Park was superior to Maluku Park in vegetation assessment. In Traffic Park, variable assessments of microclimate regulators, shade, windbreaks, and noise cancellation fall into the good category. While in Taman Maluku, only shade and windbreak variables are in the good category. The vegetation assessment categories on the microclimate regulator and noise cancellation of Taman Maluku are categorized quite well. However, when compared to the measurement of environmental conditions, the two parks have not been able to fulfill the functions of shading and noise, namely reducing the temperature to 3.5 °C and achieving the ideal condition of urban parks with 50 dB even though they can reduce 10 dB in each park. Based on the results of the analysis of social functions in Traffic Parks, the variables of inclusivity, diversity of activities, comfort and safety are in the good category. In Taman Maluku, only security variables are included in the good category. The category is quite good in Taman Maluku on the variables of inclusivity, diversity of activities and comfort. So, it can be concluded that in the social function, the Traffic Park is superior to the Maluku Park. text
