INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/71004 One of the common problems happening in warehouses is the occurrence of inaccuracies in inventory records. Inaccuracies in inventory records can happen because of internal or external factors such as theft, damage to goods, unintentional errors during inventory transactions, or improper placement of goods. The main issue of this case study is the problem that arises in company X from the retail industry, namely the variances between the inventory record and the actual physical inventory that constantly exceeds the limit set by the company. If the company fails to rectify this issue immediately, it will continuously suffer losses that reduce its profits. The variances that occur are difficult to identify since the stock recording in company X is not separated between stock in the warehouse and the store, so it is difficult to determine where the inaccuracies often occur. No warehouse management system for recording each item's movement also worsened this problem, making it difficult to trace an item's location since the historical data is unavailable. From this case study, business process re-engineering will be carried out and proposed two alternatives using traceability technology for the warehouse management system in supporting the recording of the movement of goods. Standard operating procedures for the warehouse will also be developed and used as a guide in implementing the system. This study uses qualitative data from a semi-structured interview with the management team, observation, and focus group discussion. The data were analyzed with gap analysis, cause mapping, and analytical hierarchy process to choose the proposed alternatives using QR Code and RFID. The results of data processing in the Super Decision software show that the company selected QR Code as the technology used for re-engineered business processes that will be implemented to reduce stock inaccuracy in the warehouse of the retail industry. text
