Description
Summary:CNC machine tools have two main characteristics in order to produce a product with high accuracy, including the accuracy and precision of each component of the machine tool. However, the accuracy and precision of CNC machine tools can be reduced due to several factors. One of the factors that influence accuracy and precision is geometric errors. The geometric errors found in the VMC 500 CNC machine tools originate from the ball screw and linear guideway components, where the geometric errors reviewed in this study only consist of straightness errors and angular errors. The deviation value obtained based on the measurement results from the research conducted by Komang Bagiasna and Darto, will be compared with the tolerance value based on ISO 10791-2: 2001 standard in accordance with the respective test codes. The repair method used to draft a repairment procedure for geometric errors on a VMC 500 machine is the rebuild method. The repair process carried out by the rebuilding method includes the leveling and alignment process, dismantling the X-axis drive subassembly, hand scraping, reassembling the axle drive sub-assembly, and testing the X-axis movement.
