Description
Summary:Shale is a kind of soil and / or rock that are considered problematic by Indonesian geotechnical experts. Shale behavior is influenced by dry and wet conditions. These conditions greatly affect shear strength of the soil. One of the tests that can be done to get shear strength parameter on shale is unsaturated triaxial testing. Unsaturated triaxial testing is performed to simulate dry and wet cycles on shale. This simulation is carried out to get more suitable result with the actual condition or the properties of the shale. The shale samples used in this study came from Cisomang, West Java. Shale is formed by crushing and then compacting using modified proctor c-method using optimum water content (????????????????) = 16.10%.. Sample tested using unsaturated triaxial by consolidated drained (CD) method. Matric suction value (???????? ? ????????) used in this study was 20 kPa. The outcome of this study were obtained shale shear strength parameters with a matric suction of 20 kPa, ???????? = 230, ???? = 41 ????????????, ???????? = 21.30 and ???? = 38 ????????????. Author
