The research begins by examining the prototype of the shaft that has been manufactured in terms of geometry, surface conditions, and materials. The loading data used as input for this study is an analytical calculation of the workload of the amphibious excavator unit on the wet soil surface of the Jatiluhur reservoir which is transmitted to the shoe track, chain and drive shaft. The next stage is to define the loads acting on the transmission shaft so that an analytical load calculation can be carried out. Fatigue analysis is done theoretically and numerically. Because the shaft under study has a hollow shaft geometry, an analysis was carried out using the finite element method on a 3-dimensional critical section model speciments to validate the value of the stress concentration factor of the critical cross-section of the shaft. The final stage of this research is to determine the service life (duty cycle) and safety factor for the fatigue of the shaft components by using the stress concentration factor data obtained from the results of the stress concentration factor validation text |
