The most common use of this species is as folk medicine material and as source of high economic value of timber. This species has been utilized a lot by West Java–forestry practitioners and sustainable utilization is necessary. Therefore, it is of great importance to ensure its survival and a conservation of genetic resource is needed. However, genetic information such as DNA sequence of local population of T. sinensis is still very limited. This study was conducted to add bioinformatics analysis results for use in further researches as the base framework of surian species and genetic distribution. Using the MinION Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT), a third-generation sequencing technology capable of reading long-read DNA sequences, new data on plant genomics may be added to the existing database of T. sinensis. Procedures of this research consist of DNA extraction from T. sinensis saplings, quality and quantity testing, and sequencing by MinION followed by bioinformatics analysis. Results from this research consist of low genome coverage and phylogeny analysis of T. sinensis. Data obtained from T. sinensis sequence reading consist of long-read DNA data (0.9 Gb) with partial chloroplast genome (contig) at 13.923 bp and 25.661 bp. According to relationship analysis with matK and rbcL gene markers, it was found that T. sinensis is closely related to T. ciliata. text
