ANALYSIS OF DESIGN AND SOFT SOILS IMPROVEMENT ON LIQUID BULK DOCK REVETMENT

The unique soil layering in coastal areas or waterfront areas is largely the result of tectonic plate movement and erosion and sedimentation processes. The sedimentation and erosion process forms layers or deposits of soft soil that vary at relatively close distances. In the Construction of the L...

The sedimentation and erosion process forms layers or deposits of soft soil that vary at relatively close distances. In the Construction of the Liquid Bulk Pier Revetment in Benoa, Bali Province, there are thick and varied soft soil deposits. This condition results in a potential long-term settlement that affects the stability of the dock. Differential settlements have the potential to occur due to varying soft soil thicknesses. The pier is planned to accommodate ships with a capacity of 30000 DWT, so it requires dredging on the sea side of the pier. These two things are the determinants of the Revetment system or soil retention from the dock. The Deck on Pile system is the best alternative solution for docks that have thick and varied soft soil thicknesses. text
