Summary:Water Water is a basic necessity to sustain life. Water availability is one of determinant factors for increasing community productivity. In East Kalimantan Province, Bontang City is one of district which is water sources shortage, there are no surface water sources that can be consumed. So, groundwater is the latest alternative solution, but availability of groundwater stock is decreasing recently. Bontang City needs to consume surface water and get support from other districts, such as Kutai Kartanegara Regency, which is having opportunity to build Marangkayu Dam. The intake is one of the dam's auxiliary structures. Intake is a structure built on one side of a water source with the intention of diverting some of the river's water to be used as desired. The Intake Marangkayu Dam Design will irrigate 1350 hectares as 1.38 l/s/ha and a raw water requirement of 0.43 /s. so intake capacity used is 2.3 /s and the diameter of the intake pipe used is 1.4 m. The Intake Marangkayu Dam is located in Marangkayu Watershed, Marangkayu District, with a budget of IDR 4,000,721,963.00.
