Meanwhile, for structures such as cable-stayed bridges, the method currently being developed is the static method based on changes of cable’s internal force. The purpose of this research is to know the change of parameters value of structure such as structural natural period and mode shape, and the cable’s inner force. In addition, the effectiveness of several damage detection methods on cable-stayed bridges and damage locations can be identified. For dynamic analysis, the analysis begins by comparing changes in natural period and mode shape of healthy and damaged structures. Furthermore, the continue to the calculation of changes in mode shape curvature of the bridge deck and the damage index. For the static analysis, the analysis was carried out based on changes of cable’s inner force with the model updating method. In this study, the damage was simulated by a damage of concrete cover of edge beam element and damage of the slab deck element of the bridge that occurred in 6 damage locations. From this research, it is known that the change in natural period and mode shape on the cable-stayed bridge is so small that it is not effectively used for damage detection analysis. Then, by using mode shape curvature value, bridge damage can be identified if the damage occurs in a sensitive area such as in the middle of the span. Meanwhile, if the damage occurs on support area such as near pylons is not effective. The same results also occur for the static method based on cable’s inner force. However, by using the static method, the estimated level of structural damage can be known. However, the change of cable’s inner force value is relatively small, so the effectiveness of this method is also influenced by the level of measurement accuracy. text |
