EVALUATING THE STABILITY OF HIGH-SOIL FILLING IF HANDLED WITH COUNTER WEIGHT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FILLING, STUDY CASE OF SOUTH JAPEK TOLL ROAD STATION 9+500 - 9+550
Infrastructure projects in Indonesia, specifically toll road projects, are challenged by the issues related to soil work due to the many variations of soil types. The diverse existing contour leads to different thickness of soil filling as well as column's heights. The high soil fillings (mkre...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/71243 Infrastructure projects in Indonesia, specifically toll road projects, are challenged by the issues related to soil work due to the many variations of soil types. The diverse existing contour leads to different thickness of soil filling as well as column's heights. The high soil fillings (mkre than 10 metres) is among the work with highest risk in the road construction project, especially in toll road. Thus, this becomes a challenge for consultants and contractors to design high quality and efficient planning and execution in term of quality, period of time, and cost. The Jakarta-South Cikampek II Toll Road Package 3 is among the construction project built on the expansive soil and clayshale soil. The fillings reach more than 10 m. Soil slope displacement was detected in the Station 9+500 up to 9+550. The initial design utilized normal filling with basic soil replacement. Because of that reason, an evaluation towards the design of the toll road construction is needed, including to analyze the stability of the slope in order to accomodate load and land subsidence in the fillings. The reasearch method is finite element method (FEM) using PLAXIS. The basic soil is handled by installing counter weight on the botton of the fillings and using boredpile or sheetpile. text |
