Data collection in this study was carried out by sending online questionnaires to respondents. The respondents of this research are practitioners from four BUMN construction companies in Indonesia that have implemented VSM in construction. By using descriptive analysis, the results show that the implementation of value stream mapping in construction by BUMN construction companies in Indonesia is still relatively small and there are indications that the involvement and understanding of internal personnel within the company is still uneven. All stages of VSM have been carried out by respondents, with the type of work process most often reviewed being the Construction Process and seven types of waste identified with VSM. The dominant benefits felt are increasing productivity, reducing lead time, reducing cycle time and meeting product quality standards. While the dominant obstacles are lack of knowledge, understanding, and experience of VSM, differences in concepts and indicators in VSM in construction with VSM in manufacturing, lack of information sharing and assistance from other organizations/parties, and lack of VSM training provided. For now, the most important determinants of success according to respondents are training and education, communication and organizational culture. text |

VSM is one of the tools for lean construction that has begun to be implemented by
BUMN construction companies in Indonesia. The application of VSM is considered to
provide benefits but there are also obstacles that arise in its implementation.
identification of Critical Success Factors (CSFs) in the implementation of VSM needs
to be known so that practitioners can properly implement VSM in the construction
industry. This study aims to examine the application of Value Stream Mapping (VSM),
perceived dominant benefits and obstacles, as well as Critical Success Factors in the
implementation of Value Stream Mapping by BUMN construction companies in
Indonesia. Data collection in this study was carried out by sending online
questionnaires to respondents. The respondents of this research are practitioners from
four BUMN construction companies in Indonesia that have implemented VSM in
construction. By using descriptive analysis, the results show that the implementation of
value stream mapping in construction by BUMN construction companies in Indonesia
is still relatively small and there are indications that the involvement and
understanding of internal personnel within the company is still uneven. All stages of
VSM have been carried out by respondents, with the type of work process most often
reviewed being the Construction Process and seven types of waste identified with VSM.
The dominant benefits felt are increasing productivity, reducing lead time, reducing
cycle time and meeting product quality standards. While the dominant obstacles are
lack of knowledge, understanding, and experience of VSM, differences in concepts and
indicators in VSM in construction with VSM in manufacturing, lack of information
sharing and assistance from other organizations/parties, and lack of VSM training
provided. For now, the most important determinants of success according to
respondents are training and education, communication and organizational culture.
