Summary: | The construction world is always fascinating to follow because the development of
construction technology in Indonesia is increasingly advanced and overgrowing,
especially in the field of construction digitization. Although outside Indonesia,
construction technology has entered the digitalization era, in Indonesia, most of them
still use the old style of doing business. Since development is currently being carried
out, technology must also be improved to facilitate development in Indonesia and
compete with other developed countries. Competition in the digitalization era of
construction does not only occur between countries but within one country, precisely
business to business.
Therefore, the authors want to design scenario planning so companies can compete in
the industrial era 4.0 by improving construction technology. To design a scenario plan
for PT Sangkuriang Bureau Architect and Engineer, the external and internal
environments were analysed using PESTEL, Porter's Five Forces, and Resource-Based
View. External and internal analyses were summarized using SWOT analysis and
classified as controllable and uncontrollable factors. The factors obtained from the
analysis are then used to develop scenario planning which is divided into five stages:
orientation, exploration, scenario creation, considering options, and integration.
Qualitative methods using primary and secondary data are used in this study to collect
data related to the current and future challenges of the construction industry.
Four strategic alternatives that the company will implement in facing unexpected
challenges in the future are developed using the analysis results from scenario planning.
An implementation plan is developed based on each alternative strategy in the long
term for 2023 - 2028.
