Description
Summary:Pulang Pisau Regency, located in Central Kalimantan, was chosen as one of the Food Estate areas which is part of the 2020-2024 National Strategic Program. The Food Estate area is expected to become a new food barn outside Java. However, climate variability such as the El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) can affect rice production such as a longer crop maturity, for this reason this study aims to analyze the effect of climate variability on rice productivity in Pulang Pisau Regency. This study looks at rainfall anomalies during seasons where ENSO and IOD occur. The data used is data from the Global Precipitation Climater Center and the ERA5-Land reanalysis. The method used is Path analysis which is an extension of multiple linear regression, this method can see the chain of influence between variables. The results showed that ENSO and IOD had an influence on rainfall, especially during the JJA and SON seasons. In general, ENSO has a negative correlation with rainfall with a value of -0.381, the highest correlation is in September which is -0.78 while IOD tends to be positively correlated with a value of 0.144, the highest correlation is in January with 0.62. The variables ENSO, IOD, rainfall, and GDD have an effect of 42.8% on rice productivity.
