Summary: | Banda Aceh continues to experience growth in motorized vehicles. Hence, the
government provides a solution before traffic jams occur by presenting Trans
Koetaradja Bus. Then, online transportation such as Grab and Gojek, announced
expansion of their services in Banda Aceh. Meanwhile, Trans Koetaradja demand
generally shows excess supply as the result of the average passenger for each trip
is still below 30%. Online transportation and private vehicles make the competition
between these transportation and Trans Koetaradja buses is getting tougher. This
study focuses on analyzing the competitiveness of Trans Koetaradja to determine
the factors that influence the competitiveness between Trans Koetaradja with
private vehicles and online transportation.
This study generally aims to identify the factors that affect the competitiveness of
Trans Koetaradja buses and develop a mode choice model between Trans
Koetaradja with private vehicles and online transportation. The variables used in
this study are total travel time, total travel costs and convenience factor. Data were
collected by using stated preference surveys and model was formed using Binomial
Logit Model analysis and precessed using SPSS.
From the results of the binomial logit model analysis, it shows that the factors of
total travel time, total travel costs and convenience factors influence people's
decisions in choosing the transport mode to use. The selected model can then be
used to provide recommendations for improvements such as travel time, travel costs
and increased comfort.
