Summary: | To ensure motor performance after the production process, evaluation of thermal distribution is required. In this project, the thermal distribution of the 120 kW direct current brushless motor will be analyzed using ANSYS Fluent software. The magnetic flux distribution is simulated using JMAG Designer software as an evaluator of thermal distribution. The result of this thermal analysis is to obtain a suitable cooling system so that the motor can operate in optimum conditions. Based on thermal analysis, without cooling system, BLDC motor can be operated until 993 seconds under full-load operation. With cooling system, BLDC can be opearated until 2371 seconds under full-load operations. Liquid coolant used for this simulation is demineralized-water with 1000 W/m2K transfer coefficient and 1,512 L/minutes of flow. |
