Architectural works can be created using various concepts and themes through certain approaches based on the ideas that form the basis of the design's thinking. Various themes and concepts can be influenced by the context of the location where the building will be built. In the designing Gallery Omahe Kartika Affandi in Sleman Yogyakarta, the important thing that needs to be considered is the subjectivity of Affandi Koesoema's family. Affandi Koesoema has an important role in the development of a spirit of art for all members of the Affandi family. Referring to this, the purpose of this thesis is to present one of Affandi Koesoema's expressionism paintings as a reference to become the basic idea for designing Gallery Omahe Kartika Affandi. The application of the design concept is carried out using the Pictorial Space method. The metaphoric transformation method with Pictorial Space was chosen as the method for designing because with this method the elements contained in the painting can be read explicitly. This thesis is tend to experimental architecture, which is expected to be able to provide a new perspective in exploring the use of expressionism painting in the design of a building.
