Summary: | Generation Z is a generation that is predicted to become an active workforce in 2030,
with this prediction generation Z will certainly be the generation that will experience
the most movement in the future. With the unique personality of Generation Z, they
have their own preferences in using goods and services, where the mode of transport
is one of the things that is affected by these preferences. Of the various modes of
transport affected, city transport (angkot) is the most affected where this young
generation is starting to be reluctant to use city transport due to the existence of other
more efficient modes, namely private transport and online transportation. Because of
this, this study was conducted with the aim of identifying the preferences of Generation
Z in choosing modes of transport, especially city transport in Bandung City. By using
the multinomial logit regression analysis method that compares private, online, and
city transport using the level of service variable and the suitability of generation Z
preferences when using city transport, the probability of choosing a private transport
mode is 87.727%, online transport is 12.271%, and city transport is 0.002%. With
private transport being the main mode base, the factors influencing the selection of
online transport modes are the level of safety of online transport and city transport,
the level of comfort of online transport, as well as the quality, tariff, and brand of city
transport. While the factors influencing the choice of city transport mode are the level
of safety of city transport as well as the tariff and brand of city transport. From the
results of the analysis it was also found that several variables of preference for city
transport in Bandung City are in accordance with most of the generation Z of Bandung
City, but this suitability is not enough to increase the selection of city transport modes.
So that in the future planning and policies are needed using existing preferences and
additional preferences so that city transport remains and becomes a mode of transport
that can compete in Bandung in the future.
