Summary: | Gunung Sewu Geopark is a tropical karst landscape in the south-central part of Java composed of limestone or karst, which has been acknowledged by UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp). Geopark is a single unit or combination of geographical areas of geological significance, internationally known, managed with the concept of conservation, education, and sustainability. Geopark development related to geological heritage, geological diversity, biological diversity, and cultural diversity as its aspects. Lembah Bengawan Solo Purba is a first-class karst geological site located in the Gunung Sewu Geopark area in the form of 21 km length dry, which has upstream in Giritontro, Wonogiri and downstream on the Sadeng Beach, Gunungkidul. Landscape planning at the geological site of Lembah Bengawan Solo Purba is an action to conserve to geological heritage, geodiversity, biodiversity, and cultural diversity that exist in the geosite. Geoecotourism is a sustainable landscape planning approach that focuses on the geological and landscape aspects to foster an understanding of the environment and culture, appreciation of landscape, conservation of landscapes, and increase local benefits. The methods used for data collection were field survey and literature review, while virtual environment and landscape interpretation were used for data analysis methods. The virtual environment is used for spatial mapping and physical attributes analysis. Landscape interpretation is used to assess the visual quality and tourist attractiveness carried out at several selected points available on the Lembah Bengawan Solo Purba route. The planning resulted in the division of zones in the Lembah Bengawan Solo Purba into five segment. Each segment focuses on one conservation and tourism activity. Segment one is an introduction area, segment two is agricultural area, segment three is cultural area, segment four is sports area, and segment five is tourist area. It is hoped that the site planning selected for each zone can be used as a guide for the design and development of geo-ecotourism in the Lembah Bengawan Solo Purba by local governments, communities, and/or the public. |
