Description
Summary:Crossing facilities are facilities for pedestrians provided by the government as a means of pedestrians to areas separated by roads. The provision of road crossing facilities must be in accordance with the needs of the crossing at the designated location so that its utilization can be maximized. The Soekarno Hatta corridor is the longest primary arterial road in the southern part of Bandung City. The plan to provide crossing facilities for the Soekarno Hatta Corridor is an effort that can be made to support crossing needs on the road. This research is explorative in terms of seeking ideas and perspectives and pedestrian preferences to solve problems and find solutions. This research uses a problem solving approach with descriptive methods in compiling normative principles of design as well as the potential and problems of providing crossing facilities. This research concludes that there is a need to provide crossing facilities in the Soekarno Hatta Corridor to answer the needs and concerns of pedestrians to cross the road while accommodating the vision of Bandung as a comfortable city. Problems that can be solved through this provision plan include the location, type, number, and design of crossing facilities and their supporting facilities by considering security, comfort, safety, and interconnection between areas.
