Summary: | Kudingarenglompo Island is a small island located off the coast of Makassar, South Sulawesi. This
island is approximately 18 km from the capital of South Sulawesi Province. Access to this island
only uses sea routes so that it requires sea transportation to facilitate the mobilization of
passengers, goods, and other needs. In supporting the needs of goods on Kudingarenglompo
Island, it is necessary to build a cargo berth.
In this final report, will discuss about Structural Design Cargo Berth in Kudingarenglompo Island,
Makassar, South Sulawesi. The berth structure is desgined based on the applicable design criteria
by considering the environmental conditions at the study site. This final report include the
presentation and processing data, load calculation, dimensional design, structural modeling and
analysis, structural reinforcement design, and calculation of soil capacity.
Structural modelling is done using SAP2000 software to determine the reliability of the structure
to the working load. The results of this modeling are unity check ratio (UCR) values, structural
deflections, inner forces, and bearing reactions. UCR value examination is carried out as a
reference for reliable and optimal structural design with values in the range of 0.5 to 1.0. The
forces in structural elements of the SAP2000 output are used to design the reinforcement of
structural elements and the bearing reactions are used to determine the depth of pile driving.
The results of this final project include the design of the berth and trestle which include the
structural dimensions and dimensions of structural elements, the details of reinforcement based
on the internal forces, and the required depth in the erection of piles which can withstand
structural reactions based on geotechnical data.
