Summary: | Study of hydrothermal mineralization deposit at Cupunegara area, Subang District, West Java, is
to find out the characteristics of mineralization system. The characterization of mineralization
system is the approaching method of mineralization model which is the important tool for
prediction and estimation of mineral deposit in exploration.
The host rock is composed of andesite rock unit. The magmatic activity is characterized by high
calc-alkaline. The NW-SE fault trending is the major fault in the area. Based on lineament
analysis, there is coincident similarity of trending between extension pattern and vein in NE-SW.
The mineralization associated with quartz vein which has NNE-SSW trending (N40oE/60oE;
N220oE/ 35o; and N280oE/75o) and the thickness varies from 10 – 50 cm. The alteration type
consists of silisification, argilic and prophylitic. The major element data show the adularia –
sericite alteration tendension. The mineral assemblage consist of sphalerite, pyrite, and
chalcopyrite and quartz as dominant gangue mineral. The hydrothermal fluid temperature has
interval between 180 – 250oC and neutral to alkaline fluids. The salinity of fluids is ranging from
0.9 eq wt % NaCl s/d 2.2 eq wt % NaCl. Based on the characteristics above, the mineralization
in research area can be categorized as Ephitermal Low Sulfidation. |
