Summary: | Gulf of Jakarta is an area of active sedimentation. There exist a wide sediment deposition area at the north coast of Jakarta. Generally, these sediments have not been consolidated yet, so that the conditions of these areas are an important factor to determining liquefaction. Liquefaction may occur because of earthquake that cause loss of strength and stiffness within soils. Analysis of liquefaction potential is based on SPT data taken at the gulf of Jakarta, including susceptibility rate and the factors that triggering. Liquefaction analysis methods are compared each other to get the factor of safety against liquefaction ( ) according to the characteristics of the soils.
From the analysis, the research area has 3 facieses: offshore sand facies, offshore clay facies, and offshore clay facies. Gulf of Jakarta has medium – high susceptibility rating factor for liquefaction with SRF value of 12 – 35. At non-plastic soil layers, liquefaction is more possible to happen. Comparison of cyclic resistance ration (CRR) with cyclic stress ratio (CSR) shows that the Gulf of Jakarta at risk of liquefaction because it has value factor of safety from liquefaction ( ) less than 1. Gulf of Jakarta has highest lateral spreading indexs with value 9,11 m and highest settlement in 1-dimension with value 0,88 m. Clay mineral activity and XRD results show that the settlement has relation with the presence of illite and smectite. |
