Description
Summary:The advancements in aerospace engineering has made aircrafts capable of traveling at high speed. As flow regions beyond the speed of sound, a different design method is employed for designing high speed aircrafts. Additionally, conventional aircrafts tend to perform worse in supersonic or hypersonic regimes. Therefore, the waverider was introduced to solve those problems. The powerlaw waverider shape was created using a MATLAB code. Ansys CFX is then used to simulate the waverider’s aerodynamic performance, in which the results were then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The numerical solutions obtained were also compared to the analytical results.
