In this research, from methanol extract of the root bark of A. elastica, one compound which is furanodihydrobenzoxanthone type, namely cycloartobiloxanthone, was isolated. This compound is a flavone derivative prenylated at C-3 and C-8. The separation and purification of the compound were conducted by using several chromatography techniques, such as vacuum liquid chromatography and radial chromatography. Moreover, the molecular structure of the isolated compound was determined based on spectroscopic data, including UV, IR, and 1H NMR spectroscopy. text |
