INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/71616 Spinach plant or Amaranthus tricolor L. is a vegetable plant that is widely cultivated in Indonesia. Differences in genotypes of planted spinach varieties affect vitamin C levels, appearance, yields and plant nutrient requirements. In Indonesia, the Amaranthus tricolor L. type of spinach is grown as uproot spinach. The determinants of plant growth, such as light, mechanical support, temperature, air, water and nutrients must be balanced so as not to adversely affect plant growth. The availability of nutrients is affected by the rate of weathering of soil minerals, pH, nature of the parent material, state of the plant, leaching rate, organic matter content, and evaporation. To meet the need for less nutrients for plant growth, currently many organic and inorganic fertilizers are used which can be differentiated based on physiological reactions, solubility properties, and speed of action. Organic fertilizers and argonic fertilizers have different impacts on the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of growing media on the growth and yield of spinach plants, as well as on the quality of the growing media. The method used in this study was divided into the process of cultivating spinach plants and testing various chemical, physical, and biological parameters for the content of 8 planting media, namely control, NPK, proportion of vermicompost and “kasgot”, goat manure. The plant cultivation process was carried out for seven weeks in Ujung Berung District, Bandung City, West Java. Parameter testing was carried out at the SITH ITB labtek 1A for physical and chemical tests, and the Lembang Agro Chemistry laboratory for soil chemical tests. Data analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel, SPSS and Google sheet applications. Some of the data were analyzed using the Annova test, the DMRT test, and the Pearson test. The conclusion of this study is that the best growth of spinach plants is with the addition of NPK fertilizer, while based on the results of organoleptic tests, the best spinach plants are the addition of 75% vermicompost and 25% “kasgot” fertilizer. The planting medium from the treatment of 100% vermicompost fertilizer has the best quality. text
