Description
Summary:The COVID-19 pandemic has moved religious activities from offline to online platform. During the pandemic the author attended discourses on religious life on the internet which contained criticism of religious life that places too much importance on believing in God which causes bad interpersonal relationships. A religious life that emphasizes believing in God causes people to lose empathy for others. The cause of thinking that places too much importance on believing in God is the reduction of teachings that place too much importance on punishment, obligation, and representation or group identity. It made worse by today's social life who is more concerned with survival caused by economic struggle and how religion spread by the internet which makes people easily bring other people down using religion. ¬ To address the problems described above, the author reflects on the author's religious life and creates a series entitled "Journey". The number of one series consists of ten pictures that explore religious issues from the causes, effects, and idealization of religious life through the deconstruction of symbols in Christian iconography which are added to symbols made by the author himself using digital drawing medium. The purpose of making works is as material for personal reflection and for people in living a religious life. The result of this series of works is an indirect depiction of the author's shallowness in living a religious life.
