Because of that, trace ammonia nitrogen analysis has been needed for water quality monitoring. Gas diffusion method based on flow injection analysis using visible spectrofotometry as detection technique has been proposed and evaluated. This method is based on colour change of bromothymol blue as acceptor as result of pH changes. The acceptor solution pH change caused by ammonia released from reaction between nitrogen ammonia and NaOH. Gas diffusion method based on flow injection analysis that has been proposed showed good analytical performance, that indicated by precision value (%CV) 3,05 for 0,5 mg L-1 concentration, and 0,79 for 0,1 mg L-1concentration. This method show good linearity at concentration rate 0,05 – 0,5 mg L-1 with correlation value approach one and limit of detection 1,43 ?g L-1. The application of this method on water sample give 94,44% recovery value. The good analytical performance obtained illustrate the robustness, simplycity, and usefulness of this method for analysis of trace ammonia nitrogen text |
