THE EFFECT OF RAINFALL ANOMALIES DUE TO ENSO ON TEA PRODUCTIVITY IN WEST JAVA (CASE STUDY: BANDUNG REGENCY)
Rainfall variability in Indonesia is influenced by the phenomenon of ENSO which has an impact on the agricultural sector, including tea crops. In the last ten years (2011-2020), tea production in West Java, especially in Bandung Regency varies where there is a decrease and increase which causes inst...

In the last ten years (2011-2020), tea production in West Java, especially in Bandung Regency varies where there is a decrease and increase which causes instability of tea productivity. Therefore, it is important to know the effect of rainfall anomalies due to ENSO on tea productivity in Bandung Regency. The study used monthly data on rainfall, tea productivity, and the Nino 3.4 index from 2003-2020. The methods used are Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Butterworth Bandpass Filter, and Inverse Fast Fourier Transform (IFFT) for the processing of these three data. Rainfall anomaly data is used to see the response to the ENSO phenomena and their influence on tea productivity in the study area. The rainfall pattern in Bandung Regency in 4 sub-districts (Rancabali, Pasirjambu, Pangalengan, and Kertasari) is monsoon. ENSO correlation to rainfall anomaly and rainfall anomaly correlation to tea productivity in each sub-district is low. The highest correlation between ENSO on rainfall anomalies is found in Pangalengan District (-0.309) and the highest correlation between rainfall anomalies on tea productivity is found in Kertasari District for lag 0 and 1 respectively -0.304 and -0.285. Low correlation (-0.148 to -0.309) shows that the effect of rainfall anomalies due to ENSO on tea productivity of each district in Bandung Regency has a small effect with a significance value of less than 5% (0.000-0.030) which means it has a significant relationship. text |
