The research aim was to create a fuel cell unit. Electrolyte composite Yttria Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ)- La0,8Sr0,2Ga0,8Mg0,2O3-? (LSGM) was synthesized by solid phase method. Composite YSZLSGM was sintered at temperature 1400°C for 12 hours. Pellet composite was formed after the sintering process. Pellet with thickness of 1 mm and 2 cm diameter was made with hydraulic press of 250 MPA. X-ray diffraction result of LSGM powder showed cubic structure with a space group Pm-3m, while YSZ powder showed space group P42/nmc. La0,8Sr0,2MnO3 (LSM) cathode and Sr2Mg0,2Mn0,8MoO6-? (SMMO) anode were synthesized by sol gel method. Anode and cathode casted on electrolyte’s surface then. Thin layer anode and cathode were characterized by X-ray diffraction. LSM has orthorombic structure with space group Pbnm and SMMO has monoclinic structure with space group P21/n. Characterization of SOFC’s transection was determined by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Test of cell performance by determining cell potential showed 392 mV of maximum potential. The cell was burned by elpiji fuel in air exposure. text |
