Description
Summary:The COVID-19 pandemic, which began at the end of 2019 and became a global issue on March 11, 2020, has accelerated the process of digitalization in education. Restrictions on activities in the public environment have been implemented as one of the steps to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19, thus requiring alternative solutions. One of these alternatives is distance learning. The development of digital technology and the availability of high-speed computing infrastructure enable online learning to be implemented well. Online learning (e-learning) allows students to learn from a variety of sources anywhere, so teachers should facilitate learning by providing students with good, important, and meaningful information. In addition, self-directed learning (SDL) is required for learning and optimizing students’ learning capacities. SDL is one of the skills that students need. The learning should also be designed to assist students in making the most of their mathematics learning opportunities. The NCTM provides some ideas about process standards in mathematics learning, one of which is reasoning. Reasoning is an important aspect of mathematics learning, and one way to optimize learning on the topic of congruence is through the design of online mathematics learning with self-directed learning (SDL) and reasoning-task design. This project designed online learning of congruence topics and mathematical reasoning tasks to strengthen students' SDL.This online learning design is based on the implementation of e-learning principles, SDL, and reasoning-task design with the Successive Approximation Model (SAM). Through an iterative and frequent design process and quality design, the online learning application of congruence with self-directed learning (SDL) and reasoning-task design is deemed suitable as a good alternative for learning the topic of congruence. Based on the results of testing the application by evaluating students' interactivity, SDL, and mathematical reasoning skill, the online learning application for the topic of congruence with self-directed learning (SDL) and mathematical reasoning task has been designed based on the principles of e-learning, SDL, and mathematical reasoning task. It can be a source of learning congruence and one of the alternatives to evaluating students' SDL skills and reasoning skills on the topic of congruence.
