Summary: | Since the 1980s until now, there has been a shift in the tourism paradigm towards a
more sustainable direction, thus shifting interest in travel from mass tourism to
alternative tourism, including rural tourism. One form of developing rural tourism is
through organizing tourist villages. Conceptuall y, the implementation of a tourism
village should contain sustainable principles, namely a balance between socio -
economic, cultural and environmental development. It is known that Alamendah
Tourism Village is the best tourist village in Bandung Regency. Th erefore, this
research was conducted with the aim of examining the application of the concept of a
sustainable tourism village to the implementation of the Alamendah Tourism Village.
The research method used is a mixture of qualitative and quantitative met hods. A
literature study was carried out to identify the ideal criteria and indicators for
organizing a sustainable tourism village. Each indicator will have a score with a
range of 1 – 4, then proceed with defining the requirements for the lowest score to the
highest score per indicator. The existing conditions in the Alamendah Tourism Village
were analyzed descriptively qualitatively, and followed by a scoring analysis to
produce a classification for implementing a sustainable tourism village. The results of
this study indicate that the Alamendah Tourism Village has organized a tourism
village in a 'sufficiently sustainable' manner, in terms of four aspects of sustainable
tourist destinations namely environment, culture, socio -economic, and management.
Socio-economic aspects have the highest average score, followed by cultural aspects
and management aspects. While the environmental aspect has the lowest average
score, especially in the indicators that discuss waste management and the
management of tourist actions. This indicates that there are still a number of matters
related to the implementation of environmental aspects that are not in accordance
with sustainable principles. |
