Description
Summary:DKI Jakarta is not only the capital city but also the center of Indonesia’s goverment. Apart from its important role in developing Indonesia, Jakarta has various kinds of problems, and one of them is the phenomenon of flooding, which occurs every year. The trigger of flooding in various areas of Jakarta City is the geomorphology of the area, which is a confluence of many large river. One of the main streams contributing to Jakarta's flooding is the Krukut River. The overflow of the Krukut River has hampered activities in various downstream areas such as Pondok Labu, East Cilandak, Kemang, Petogogan, and Sudirman. In an attempt to control flooding, Brigif Reservoir is planned to reduce the discharge of the Krukut River by holding the water as long as possible in the upsteam before flowing it back to the river. The discharge generated by the Snyder’s Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (SUH) in the Brigif reservoir watershed, which is the Krukut River sub-basin, with a rain height 200 mm is 158.73 m3/s. Brigif Reservoir with its 262,650 m3 capacity, can reduce inundation areas due to the overflow of the Krukut River by 6.8%.
