Description
Summary:The safety management system in construction functions to ensure work safety in construction projects. In Indonesia, such system is called SMKK (Construction Safety Management System). One of the workforce regulated in the SMKK is the Construction Safety Officer, who gains their competence through the SMKK Bimtek training for Construction Safety Officers. However, for the training to have a positive impact in the workplace, the knowledge and skills taught need to be applied in the workplace. This level of application of knowledge and skills is called training transfer. This study aims to examine the factors involved in the training transfer process and their influence on the SMKK Training for Safety Officers. The results of the study show that the variables of Trainee Characteristics, Training Design, Work Environment Support, and Learning and Retention have a positive influence on the Transfer of Training. The Training Design Variable also has a positive influence on the Learning and Retention Variable, through which it has an indirect effect on Training Transfer. However, the relationship between the Trainee Characteristics variable on Learning and Retention was not found in this study. The thing that might cause may be the subjectivity which is still quite high in the indicators used to measure latent variables in this study.
