Description
Summary:The relocation of National Capital to Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan is Indonesia's first step towards realizing a smart city. One of most important things in realizing a smart city is an adequate internet network that can reach all segments that also play a role as builders of the smart city itself. In this final project, a fiber- optic broadband-based internet network design is carried out for the new IKN area, most of which are located in North Penajam Paser Regency. Before this final project was carried out, a search was carried out for various references related to the design of fiber optic networks for a city starting from the urgency of using fiber optics, basic knowledge about FTTH, and various alternative software that can be used in designing fiber broadband network. With reference to the Presidential Decree No. 63 of 2022 concerning Details of the Archipelago Capital City Master Plan, a digital map of the IKN area is made using QGIS software. Next, the basic design of the fiber broadband network is made covering the KIKN and KIPP areas by using an additional feature called GNI provided by the QGIS software. The last step is to make a line diagram of the basic design of broadband fiber network that has been made. This final project succeeded in producing a fiber broadband network topology that is still in basic design including demand forecasting, line diagrams, and data contained in the topology those are 1 OLT point, 11 ODC points, 18 ODP points, feeder cable and distribution length of 54,273 km, and the length of drop cable is 292,423 km. In addition, data regarding the length of the junction cable connecting the OLT at IKN to the nearest Palapa Ring landing point was obtained with a length of around 330-370 km.
