DEVELOPMENT OF E-WALLET TRANSACTION PROTOTYPE USING BLOCKCHAIN

The majority of e-wallet transaction service providers currently use a centralized system, which causes weakness in the integrity of data from each transaction and the assets owned by consumers. Therefore, a more secure system is needed that still has a high enough throughput. The developed transact...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/72110 The majority of e-wallet transaction service providers currently use a centralized system, which causes weakness in the integrity of data from each transaction and the assets owned by consumers. Therefore, a more secure system is needed that still has a high enough throughput. The developed transaction system can view, transfer, top-up balances, and view transaction records that have been made. In addition, the system has login, registration, and QR code display features. A centralized system has high throughput and low development costs in terms of both financially and time, but the stored assets and transactions are more susceptible to tampering, so data integrity cannot be achieved and is not in line with Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 22/20/PBI/2020 on Consumer Protection. Data integrity can be achieved by using a decentralized system using blockchain because the data stored on the blockchain cannot be changed. Hyperledger Fabric was chosen as the blockchain technology in the system development because the technology is specifically designed for organizations and companies, so it has better performance than Ethereum and Ripple. The system's performance can generally run well even though it has less throughput and response time. In addition, the system has handled double spending issues by updating the same key even though key conflicts occur. text
