Description
Summary:Based on Law Number 26 of 2007 concerning Spatial Planning which has been partially amended in Law Number 11 of 2021 concerning Job Creation, it is stated that the provision of green open space is 30% of the area. However, fulfilling this number is becoming difficult due to the increasing conversion of green open space into built-up areas. The City of Sukabumi is also experiencing this, where part of its area is functioned for various spatial functions so that the availability of green open space in the City of Sukabumi only reaches 1.46% of the area of the City of Sukabumi. This is what encourages int research to be carried out with the aim of examining how the potential for green infrastructure development is the basis for a green open space management strategy and the characteristics of the City of Sukabumi. This research was conducted with a mix method approach. Data collection was carried out through literature studies from planning documents and literature, secondary surveys or institutional surveys and primary surveys or field observations. The results of the research show that there are five principles for the development of Green Infrastructure in accordance with the characteristics of the City of Sukabumi, namely the principles of sustainable development, the principles of environmental conservation, the principles of connectivity, the principles of integration, and the principles of sustainability. This principle is in accordance with the characteristics of the City of Sukabumi which has environmental problems in the form of land conversion due to the urban development process, the existence of disaster-prone areas, and the potential for green open space. In addition, the potential area for developing Green Infrastructure in Sukabumi City is 31.22%. The largest amount of potential is from wetland agriculture, namely rice fields which reach 11.61%; then the potential for green lanes is 5.31%, jungle/urban forest is 3.23%, and parcels of land for trade and service zones are 2.88%. From the identification and calculation results, a green open space management strategy in Sukabumi City was determined based on internal and external factors in the study area. The strategic approach consists of the basic aspects of green open space management and approaches according to the principles of Green Infrastructure development
