INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/72179 Husein Sastranegara International Airport is an International Airport located in Bandung City, the Capital of West Java Province. This Airport plays a major role in the development of Bandung and it’s surroundings, especially as an accessibility facility for domestic dan foreign flights and tourists. This airport is projected to reach around 8.6 million passenger movements per year in 2039, so it is necessary to develop existing facilities, one of which is the air side facility. This is to improve the serviceability of the increasing number of passenger movements for the following years. In this final project assignment, airport planning is carried out to the inspection of the current runway pavement which will be used within the next 20 years from the last year of Overlay of the pavement (2018) based on the Angkasa Pura II Report: Airport Pavement Management System, and to provide a runway geometry design as well as runway pavement design that is adjusted to the refered provisions in designing airports, namely the provisions that have been issued by the Directorate General of Air Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, ICAO, and FAA. The planning begins by conducting a literature study needed to analyze and design airside facilities, in this case the main part is the runway section, which is in the form of traffic movement projections, inspection of existing pavement layers for traffic, geometry design, and pavement design including pavement layer thickness, as well as the need for pavement reinforcement for rigid pavements. After that, collect the required data such as air side infrastructure data, traffic data, geographical data, geotechnical data, and pavement layering data. The design of the runway geometry is carried out with an Airbus A320-200 aircraft as the critical aircraft, the length of the corrected runway is 3530 m, this length can be adjusted again by adjusting the Regulated Take Off Weight (RTOW) of the aircraft. Analysis of Overlay requirements from existing pavements using FAARFIELD software, then it’s evaluated with COMFAA software, which in this final project assignment found that the pavements need a new Overlay at segment A (30 mm) and E (10 mm). The new pavement design, if it is going to be reconstructed, also uses FAARFIELD software, then it’s evaluated with COMFAA software. Obtained surface layer thickness of flexible pavement of 15 cm with a total thickness of 63.42 cm, and 42,5 cm for rigid pavement with a total thickness of 90.95 cm. text
