LAND MANAGEMENT DESIGN AND DRAINAGE SYSTEM FOR ACID MINE WATER MANAGEMENT IN THE WESTERN SUB-CATCHMENT AREA PART A VOID ON2 SOUTH OF PT BERAU COAL’S LATI SITE

PT Berau Coal is a coal mining company in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan. Coal mining activities using an open pit mining system have the potential to cause acid mine drainage. Acid mine drainage is formed due to potential acid formation (PAF) in heaps bound to rainwater. Because there is not eno...

Coal mining activities using an open pit mining system have the potential to cause acid mine drainage. Acid mine drainage is formed due to potential acid formation (PAF) in heaps bound to rainwater. Because there is not enough non-acid forming rock (NAF) available to cover the stockpile, it is necessary to design a drainage system and recommend a drainage system for integrated and integrated management of acid mine drainage at the post-mining stage in ex-mining land. The design of the drainage system in South ON2 part A begins with filling up several areas up to an elevation of 80, and building benches for land management at an elevation of 80 m to 110 m. Benches are made with dimensions of 30-40 m wide and 5 m high, road between benches are made with a width of 10 m and a slope of 8%. The facilities to be made are open channels consisting of perimeter drainage, bench drainage, ramp drainage, and channels between benches in the form of a trapezoid with dimensions of 1 m wide and 1 m high, making culverts with a radius of 0.5 m, construction of a triangular safety berm with dimensions below 1.5 m wide and 0.5 m high, and installation of anoxic limestone drain at the outlet. There are 2 outlet channels with peak debits of 0.28m3/s and 0.76 m3/s. From this design, the erosion prediction value of 3.87 tons/ha/year is obtained which is relatively light so that no facilities are needed to handle erosion. text
