LAND MANAGEMENT DESIGN AND DRAINAGE SYSTEM FOR ACID MINE WATER MANAGEMENT IN THE WESTERN SUB-CATCHMENT AREA PART B VOID ON2 SOUTH OF PT BERAU COAL’S SITE LATI

Coal mining activities can cause the formation of acid mine water which is harmful to the surrounding environment if not managed properly. Stockpile areas containing Potential Acid Forming (PAF) material can cause acid mine water to form when rain occurs. The problem in this study is the unavaila...

Stockpile areas containing Potential Acid Forming (PAF) material can cause acid mine water to form when rain occurs. The problem in this study is the unavailability of sufficient Non-Acid Forming (NAF) rocks to cover open land in the heap area in the sub-catchment area west of section B Void ON2 South. Therefore, a management concept will be designed in the form of land management, namely; 1) Level development in the stockpile area of the research area with a level width of 16 m, height between levels of 5 m, single slope of 25%, and overall slope of 15%. To support the management concept design, recommendations for facilities are needed, namely; 1) Making inter-tiered roads with a width of 10 m and a slope of 8%. 2) The open channel is in the form of a trapezoid with dimensions of 1.5 m lower width and 1 m high divided into four, namely, perimeter drainage, bench drainage, ramp drainage, and inter-level channels; 3) The culvert uses concrete material with a diameter of 2 m; 4) A triangular berm safety building with dimensions of 1.5 m lower width and 0.5 m high; and 5) Passive treatment instalation in the form of anoxic limestone drainage in open channels text
